Category Admin Page

Instruction to the Admin Page concerning Categories.

Overview

The Category pages is where an Admin User can edit most fields and information regarding a specific Category.

Category Page Tabs

Tabs Descriptions

General

General information relating to the category such as name, url, description, etc

Marketing

Merchandising information related to category such as UpSale and CrossSale products.

Media

Search

Information regarding the Search Facets for the category

Relevancy Rules

Set the relevancy of searches with products

Subcategories

Shipping information such as width, girth, fulfillment type, weight units, etc

Products

Manage the list of products contained within the category.

Audit

General

By default, the General Tab has five Field Groups

Main/General

Contains Fields like Name, Parent Category, Descriptions, URL, etc

Custom Attributes

A place to store custom Category Attributes

Active Date Range

Set the range of dates that the Category is active on the site

Miscellaneous

Fields such as Custom Template, and External Id.

Marketing

This is where a merchandising or marketing user can set merchandising information within the Category such as Featured Products, Cross Sale Products, and UpSale Products

Search

This is where a merchandising user can manage how products are searched and filtered within in Category. This is where Fields such as Category Search Facets and Excluded Search Facets are set.

Relevancy Rules

This is where a SEO user can set Relevancy Rules that manage the relevancy between Product and searches.

Subcategories

This is where a catalog or merchandising user can set and manage the Child Categories for the given category.

Products

This is where a catalog or merchandising user can add, remove, or edit the order of the products within the category. Catalog management users can also set the default Inventory type and Fulfillment type for all products within the category.

Note

The Inventory Type and Fulfillment Type of a Product can be overridden.
