Augmented reality company castAR selected Broadleaf Commerce to build a marketplace environment for developers to upload and develop their own projects. Broadleaf was chosen by castAR after carefully evaluating the framework’s extensibility and scalability. castAR will leverage the framework to build an environment unique to any current or previous Broadleaf Commerce implementations.
“Augmented reality will fundamentally change how people play and work together and we’re excited to be working to bring this technology to consumers in 2017,” stated Walter Hsueh, Director of Engineering at castAR. “We looked at several customizable Java frameworks and found that Broadleaf was best-suited to meet our needs for an open, scalable architecture.”
“We are so excited to see castAR leveraging Broadleaf in such a fun way,” said Brad Buhl, COO of Broadleaf Commerce. “Augmented reality is poised to become a disruptive technology and castAR is uniquely positioned as an early mover and leader in the space. We’re excited they’ve chosen to partner with Broadleaf for the ability to deliver unique online and in-game eCommerce experiences.”
Based on Java and Spring technologies, the Broadleaf framework will enable castAR to provide customers optimized omni-channel experiences, supporting both the castAR online store as well as the developer marketplace.
