Ganz became aware that its existing eCommerce application had architectural flaws, making it more difficult to maintain, and expensive to implement new features. With the requirement for physical and virtual products and currencies, and the need to integrate with their existing physical fulfillment and Webkinz® online gaming systems, Ganz started the process of selecting a new eCommerce platform.
Solution
Ganz was looking for an extensible, feature rich eCommerce platform. Ganz was also looking for a platform that was built on best of breed technologies like Spring and Hibernate. Finally, Ganz was looking for a partner that could provide support and highly skilled professional services. Ganz considered a number of possibilities, including building a solution from scratch, using an eCommerce solution targeted for the gaming industry, and open source frameworks. After considerable due diligence, Ganz decided on Broadleaf Commerce to provide the platform to launch its fully re-vamped eStore.
Broadleaf Commerce provided the foundation for unique, complex features such as virtual and physical products and currencies. Broadleaf also made it possible for Ganz to customize and extend the core framework to meet every business requirement without compromise. The solution accomodates complex pricing rules, merchandising, content management, and complex workflows and checkout processes. The solution also integrates with Ganz's existing warehouse management and order management systems, as well as their Webkinz® online gaming system.
